Bio
Tatiana Guerrero, a sculptor and multimedia artist, was raised in El Salvador by a family of artists and migrated to Los Angeles, where she explores memory and identity themes through sculpture, installation, and collaborative projects.
Her work reflects her journey and the stories of displacement and adaptation she has encountered.
Using various materials, Guerrero creates sculptures exploring how people and the natural world adapt and endure. Guerrero’s creative process is not solitary but rather a collaborative effort. Her involvement in the nomadic collective «Imaginaries of the Future» and her experiences in collaborative studio environments actively shape her art. For Guerrero, creating art is about shared experiences that influence her work, making her a part of a larger artistic community.
Guerrero often uses inspiration from different entities and materials. The work invites viewers to rethink traditional ideas about identity and place, offering a complex view of the migrant experience. She considers how people and the natural world adapt and endure. Her sculptures testify to the resilience and creativity that occur from displacement, motivating us to consider how memory and migration influence our understanding of the world and our place in it.
